We've all done it. Our significant other texts us something a little dirty and we reply in same. It escalates a little bit, and before you know it you're sending a pic of yourself in a various state of undress. Nothing wrong with that. However the problems arrive at the break up, or the lost phone, or friend nosing in the phone. You're now exposed and left in the open.
You will hear me say that I am against sexting, or expressing your sexuality privately with your partner(s). However there somethings you can do protect yourself in these situations.
- Obscure or cut off your face. I am sure your partner knows what you look like well enough. Your naughty bits should be enough.
- Make sure that any identifying marks such as tattoos or scars are not in the shot.
- Manually delete or lock the photos in the recipients phone.
- If you are using a smart phone search for a security app, like TigerText for iPhone.
- Every cell phone has a security feature that requires a security code for operation.
- Have a code word to use with your partner(s). You can use it to make sure you are sending the pictures to the right person.
